Preparation: The Leader provide the Soldier Form to the counselee along with a time-frame for completion. The Soldier completes each section by marking each item as a Sustain or Improve along with any remarks in the identified areas. The Leader completes the Leader Form in the same fashion.
Conversation with Soldier: The Leader and Soldier set aside time to review the CET and guides the conversation using the information provided by the Soldier. The main purpose of the CET is to drive meaningful conversations between Soldiers and Leaders by enabling two-way conversations. The Leader should ask open-ended and clarifying questions balancing what they are observing as a Leader and understanding these things from the Soldiers perspective.
