"Field Grade Leader" coming to Fort Leavenworth on 15 August 2019

Major Josh Powers is an Infantry officer who currently serves as the Northeast Asia Plans Chief for United States Army Pacific.

Previous to this assignment, MAJ Powers has served in command and staff positions at all levels including platoon leader, company commander, battalion operations officer, battalion executive officer, brigade operations officer, and corps future operations planner. His combat service includes Operations Iraqi Freedom V (2005), the Iraq Surge (2007), and the Afghan Surge (2010).

Josh graduated from the Virginia Military Institute in 2004, receiving a bachelor's degree in history. Josh also graduated from the School of Advanced Military Studies in 2017 where he received a master's degree in Military Art and Science.

Josh is the founder of The Field Grade Leader, a blog focused on organizational leadership in the military.
