The Army Ethic for a SARC or VA

701L-SHA2402

The intent is to remind the SARC/VA of their position of special trust within the organization, and to inspire them to employ the Army Ethic in developing the character of unit members. This material applies to learners in all cohorts (Officer, Warrant Officer, Non-Commissioned Officer, and Army Civilian) who are serving as SARCs or VAs. Learners will analyze the Army’s Framework for Character Development with emphasis on organizational leader responsibilities for aligning climate with the Army Ethic. The desired outcome of this lesson is for learners to integrate the Army Ethic into organizational climate as key staff advisors to commanders and directors and intentionally consider the ethical implications of decisions and actions.

Intended Audience: Sexual Assault Response Coordinators (SARC) and Victim Advocates (VA)
